Back Squats then Goblet Squats, T2B and KB Marches

5 rounds to work up to a

  • 3 x Pause Back Squats with 3 second pause at bottom

For time 21-18-15-12-9-6-3 of

  • Goblet Squats @ 32kg
  • Toes to Bar

After each set do

  • 25 x Single Kettlebell Standing Farmer Carry Marches per side @ 32kg (do 25 with KB in left hand then 25 with KB in right hand for a total of 50 steps)

Results: Back Squat 61-70-80-85-91kg. Metcon 23:08.

Strict Press then Squat Cleans, OHP and Rows

4 rounds increasing weight each round if possible

  • 10 x Strict Press

Inspired by Joeller Blades’ Instagram post on August 22…

EMOM for 8 minutes with single Kettlebell, complete all reps with KB on one side in one minute, then switch to the other for the next minute (4 rounds per side).

  • 4 x Squat Cleans @ 20kg
  • 5 x Overhead Press @ 20kg
  • 6 x Bent Rows @ 20kg
  • Rest 30 seconds, repeat on other side

Results: Strict Press… 30-34-36-39-43kg.

Strict Cindy plus Deadlifts

Based on a workout from the Crossfit main site…

5 rounds for time of

  • 5 x Strict Pullups @ 10kg weight vest
  • 10 x Pushups @ 10kg weight vest
  • 15 x Air Squats @ 10kg weight vest

Immediately followed by AMRAP in 5 minutes of

  • Deadlift @ 100kg

Immediately followed by 5 rounds for time of

  • 5 x Strict Pullups
  • 10 x Pushups
  • 15 x Air Squats

Results: 6:51 and 6:34 for the two AMRAPs, 30 Deadlifts. Total time 18:25.

Max Heart Rate Test

Thought I should test to see what my real max heart rate might be and adjust my Whoop accordingly.

4 rounds of 2 minutes on, 1 minute rest

  • Row @ max effort

Results: Got up to 169 which was not what I expected since I hit 177 earlier in the week when running some hills. Not a test I want to repeat again soon! Side note… on my second round finished 500m in 1:46.
