Bench Press and Ring Pushups then Wall Walks and Pullups

Working on Strict Muscle Ups…

  • 3-5 x Ring Reverse Rows with False Grip (pull to sternum)

Every 2 minutes for 10 minutes, work up to a heavy

  • 5 x Bench Press

Then every 2 minutes for 10 minutes (5 rounds)

  • Round 1 – 10 x Ring Pushups with both hands on rings
  • Round 2 – 10 x Ring Pushups with left hand on ring, right on ground
  • Round 3 – 10 x Ring Pushups with right hand on ring, left on ground
  • Round 4 – 10 x Ring Pushups with left hand on ring, right on ground
  • Round 5 – 10 x Ring Pushups with right hand on ring, left on ground

Set the rings to about 5cm off the ground.

Then for time

  • 5 x Wall Walks
  • 5 x Strict Pullups
  • 4 x Wall Walks
  • 5 x Strict Pullups
  • 3 x Wall Walks
  • 5 x Strict Pullups
  • 2 x Wall Walks
  • 5 x Strict Pullups
  • 1 x Wall Walk
  • 5 x Strict Pullups

Results: Bench Press 135-155-165-170-175lbs. Metcon 9:59.

Bench Press then DB Snatches and T2B

I found the Twisted Cross stretch to be good at preparing the shoulder for bench press.

Taken from the Repwerks WOD from June 29...

3 rounds of

  • Max effort Bench Press @ 75% of 1RM
  • Rest 90 seconds

Then EMOM for 10 minutes

  • 3 x Close Grip Bench Press

Then for time (reminded at breakfast last Sunday that I have not done these for a long time)

  • 100 x Alternating Dumbbell Snatches @ 20kg (50 per hand)
  • EMOM stop and do 5 x Toes to Bar

Results: Bench Press used 155lbs and 105lbs respectively. Max effort Bench 8-6-6 reps per round. Metcon 9:45.

Bench Press then Sandbag G2OH, Pull Throughs and Lunges

Every 2 minutes for 10 minutes, work up to a heavy

  • 5 x Bench Press

Immediately after the final 2 minutes ends, EMOM for 10 minutes

  • 1 x Bench Press @ Max from above

Then 4 rounds of

  • 10 x Sandbag Pull Through (through and back is 1 rep) @ 20kg Sandbag
  • 10 x Sandbag Ground to Overhead
  • 10 x Sandbag Reverse Lunges, alternate legs and shoulder where the Sandbag each rep (l+r=1 rep)

Results: Got to 175lbs/80kg on the Bench. Metcon 12:06.

Split Squats and Glute Bridges then Bench Presses

Then 3 rounds of

  • 10 x Stability Ball Forearm Saws
  • 5 x Stability Ball Stir the Pot Each Direction
  • 10 x Stability Ball Knee Tucks

Then 4 rounds

  • 8 x Weighted RFE Split Squats @ 14kg Kettlebell per Hand Left
  • 8 x Weighted RFE Split Squats @ 14kg Kettlebell per Hand Right
  • 10 x Weighted Glute Bridge with 20kg Sandbag
  • 10 x Kettlebell Deadlift @ 14kg per hand
  • Rest 60 seconds

Then every 3 minutes for 15 minutes

  • 3 x Bench Press

Let the final 3 minute clock finish then immediately do

  • 1 x Max Effort Bench Press @ 75% from above

Results: Bench Press 185lbs/84kg (failed @ 195lbs). Max @ 135lbs/61kg – 12 reps.

Pullups, Bench Press then Power Cleans, Pullups and Box Jump Overs

Then 5 rounds, working up to a heavy Bench Press

  • 6 x Bench Press
  • Rest 30 seconds
  • 5 x Strict Pullups
  • Rest 2 minutes

Then taken from Street Parking’s Hermes WOD on Instagram…

AMRAP in 3 minutes of

  • 7 x Hang Power Clean @ 75lbs/35kg
  • 7 x Pullups
  • 7 x Box Jump Overs

Rest 1 minute then repeat for a total of 4 rounds.

Results: Bench Press 155lbs/70kg. Metcon – 2 rounds + 17 reps – 2+7 – 2+5 – 2+2.
