Front Squats

Been doing a lot of high intensity work this week so just some skill and strength today.

Take 15 minutes and work on Frog Stand Press Progressions.

5 rounds of

  • 1 x Pause Front Squat @ 80% of 1RM
  • 3 x Front Squat
  • Rest 2 minutes

Then 1 round of

  • 20 x Front Squats @ 50% of 1RM

Results: Used 175lbs and 110lbs for the Front Squats.

Overhead Press and Bent Rows then Overhead Squats

Spend 15 minutes on Handstand stuff…

  • Frog Stand Press
  • Freestanding Handstand Hold

5 rounds of

  • 8-10 x Seated Dumbbell Press @ 12kg per hand
  • 8 x Single Arm Bent Rows @ 24kg
  • Rest 2 minutes

Then E2MOM for 20 minutes, increase weight if comfortable

  • 1 x Heel Elevated Overhead Squat on 25lbs/10kg plate @ empty bar
  • 3 x Sots Press (Snatch Hold Overhead Press from Back)

Results: Done as shown. Overhead Squats and Presses went well… improved over the last time I tried.

Front Squats then Squat Cleans and BBJs

2 rounds of

  • 30 seconds Handstand Hold

Then 2 rounds of

  • 15 second Frog Stand

Then 3 rounds of

  • 1 x Pause Zombie Squat @ 65lbs (3-5 second pause)

Then 3 rounds of

  • 8 x Pause Front Squat @ 60% of 3RM (3 sec pause)

Then 4 rounds for time

  • 12 x Squat Cleans @ 95lbs
  • 12 x Burpee Box Jumps

Results: Front Squats @125lbs. Metcon 17:23.

Pullups and Muscle Ups then Frog Stand, Curls, Ring Rows and HSPU

2 rounds of max unbroken (rest 2 minutes between rounds)

  • Strict Pullups

Then accumulate

  • 30 x Jumping Bar Muscle Ups

Then for time

  • 100 x Ring Rows
  • Every time you break do 3 x Handstand Pushups

Then 3 rounds

  • 30 second Frog Stand Hold
  • 15 x DB Curls @ 10kg per Hand

Then 3 rounds

  • 30 second Frog Stand Hold
  • 10 x DB Curls @ 10kg per Hand

Results: Pullups 10 and 8 😞. Jumping MU with 4 risers. Rows. in 12:53.

Frogstands then Power Cleans and an AMRAP

Spend some time working on Frogstand to Handstand transition.

Then every 3 minutes for 18 minutes (6 rounds) do:

Then do AMRAP in 7 minutes of:

  • 7 x Dumbbell Snatch per Hand @ 20kg
  • 7 x Strict Toes to Bar
  • 14 Calorie Row

Results:  Not much to report on the Frogstands, didn’t make it all the way to Handstand this time.  For the clean did 40kg, 50kg, 55kg, 60kg, 65kg (failed on the above knee rep), 60kg.  For the AMRAP did 3 rounds plus 10 x DB Snatch.
