Rowing Lumberjack 20 with Dumbbells

The standard Lumberjack 20 calls for a 400m run instead of rowing and uses a bar for the Deadlifts and Squats. Since there are only 20 reps, going heavy on the Dumbbells :-)…

For time:

  • 20 x Dumbell Deadlifts @ 20kg per hand
  • Row 400 meters
  • 20 x Kettlebell Swings @ 32kg
  • Row 400 meters
  • 20 x Dumbbell Front Squats @ 20kg per hand
  • Row 400 meters
  • 20 x Burpees
  • Row 400 meters
  • 20 x Dumbbell Push Press @ 20kg per hand
  • Row 400 meters
  • 20 x Box Jumps
  • Row 400 meters
  • 20 x Dumbbell Squat Cleans @ 20kg per hand
  • Row 400 meters

Results: 26:02

Front Squats and Reverse Lunges then Dips and KBS

3 rounds of

  • 4 x Tempo Front Squat 33×1 @ 60-70%

Then E3MOM for 9 minutes

  • 20 x Alternating Reverse Lunges @ 45-50% (10 per leg)

Then 8 rounds for time

  • 11 x Ring Dips
  • 22 x Kettlebell Swings

Results: Used 165lbs for the Front Squats… 3 second decent and hold were tough. Used 95lbs for the Reverse Lunges. Metcon 12:35.

Bench Press then Row, Pushups, KBS, Buprees and Pullups

Evvery 3 minutes for 18 minutes (6 rounds)

  • 8-10 x Dumbbell Bench Press @20kg per hand
  • 3 x Archer Pullups per Side

AMRAP in 21 minutes

  • Row 500m
  • 21 x Pushups
  • 21 x Kettlebell Swings
  • 15 x V-Ups
  • 9 x Pullups

Results: Watched this Youtube video and see I am doing Archer Pullups wrong… will do them as shown next time. Metcon 3 rounds plus 500m row and 30 reps.

Deadlifts then Kettlebell Swings, Power Cleans and Burpee Pullups

5 rounds of

  • 6 x Deficit Deadlifts @ 70-75% of 1RM

Then inspired by Street Parking’s Circe Vault WOD…

5 rounds for time (including rest)

  • 12 x Kettlebell Swings @ 32kg
  • 9 x Power Cleans @ 95lbs
  • 6 x Burpee Pullups
  • Rest 30 seconds

Results: Used 100kg for the Deadllifts. Metcon 14:04.

Split Squats and Hip Thrusts then Row, KBS and Deadlifts

5 rounds of and work up to a heavy

  • 5 x Rear Foot Elevated Split Squats with Bar in Front Rack Right
  • Rest 30 seconds
  • 5 x Rear Foot Elevated Split Squats with Bar in Front Rack Left
  • Rest 2 minutes

Then 3 rounds, rest 2 minute between round

  • 20 x Weighted Hip Thrusts @ 95lbs

Then, for time, complete both parts

Part 1 –

  • Row 1k

Part 2 – 5 rounds of

  • 20 x Kettlbell Swings @ 24kg
  • 3 x Deadlifts @ 185lbs

Results: Split Squats 65-75-85-105-115lbs. Metcon 11:31.
