4 rounds

EMOM for 12 minutes, alternate through the following

  • Station 1 – 5 x Standing Sots press @ empty bar
  • Station 2 – 3 x OHS @ empty bar

Every 3 minutes for 12 minutes

  • 3 x Overhead Squat

Work up to a heavy set.

Then for form, 3 rounds of

  • 3 x Snatch Balance

Results: Overhead Squats 75-85-95-105lbs. Snatch Balance 65-75-75lbs.

Overhead Squats, Snatches and Double Unders

EMOM for 12 minutes cycle through the following (4 sets of each)

  • Station 1 – 5 x Standing Sots Press with Empty Bar
  • Station 2 – 5 x Overhead Squat with Empty Bar
  • Station 3 – 3 x Snatch Balance with Empty Bar

Then every 2 minutes for 10 minutes

  • 3 x Overhead Squat

Then 2019 Qualifier WOD #1 from Wodapalooza…

AMRAP in 9 minutes of

  • 3 x Power Snatch @65lbs
  • 3 x Overhead Squat @65lbs
  • 30 x DU
  • 6 x Power Snatch
  • 6 x OHS
  • 30 x DU
  • 9 x Power Snatch
  • 9 x OHS
  • 30 x DU
  • …etc

Results: Overhead Squats 65-75-85-95-100lbs. Metcon 4 rounds plus 14 reps.

Core Work then OHS and a Pair of Tabatas

Continuing my quest to improve my OHS/Squat Snatch, this is the third week in a row of doing one or the other.

4 sets of the following (taken from Kari Pearce’s post on Instagram)

  • 3 x TRX Pike Press
  • 3 x TRX Mountain Climbers (R+L=1 rep)
  • Repeat for 5 rounds

Then 3 rounds of

  • 5 x Standing Sots Press @ 45lbs (empty bar)
  • 5 x Overhead Squat @ 45lbs (empty bar)

Then every 2 minutes for 12 minutes

  • Set 1 – 5 x Overhead Squat @ 65lbs
  • Set 2 – 3 x Overhead Squat @ 75lbs
  • Set 3 – 1 x Overhead Squat @ 85lbs
  • Set 4 – 5 x Overhead Squat @ 75lbs
  • Set 5 – 3 x Overhead Squat @ 85lbs
  • Set 6 – 1 x Overhead Squat @ 95lbs

Then for total calories/reps do 8 rounds of 20 seconds work / 10 second rest Tabata for each of the following, rest 2 minutes between

  • Tabata 1 – Row
  • Tabata 2 – Pushups

Results: Core workout was really good. Overhead squats worked well, I even completed 3 reps at 95lbs since the first one was so good :). Tabata 1 – 23 calories, Tabata 2 – 83 reps.

Overhead Squats then DUs, T2B and Squat Snach

3 rounds of Sots Presses

  • 2 x Standing Sots Press @ 45lbs (empty bar)
  • 2 x Half Squat Sots Press @ 45lbs
  • 2 x Full Squat Sots Press @ PVC Pipe

Raise heels with some 5kg plates if necessary.

Then 3 rounds of

  • 5 x Overhead Squats @ 45lbs

Then still with an empty bar complete 3 rounds of

Then 5 rounds of

  • 5 x Overhead Squat @ 75lbs

Then AMRAP in 15 minutes of

  • 60 x Double Unders
  • 20 x Toes to Bar
  • 10 x Squat Snatch @ 65lbs

Results: Sots presses worked OK. An empty bar was too hard in a full squat position so switched to a PVC Pipe. For the AMRAP 3 rounds plus 7 reps. Squat Snatches were OK, but took a lot of concentration. Was able to get in 5 reps unbroken most of the time once I got the rhythm.

Snatches and Overhead Squats

Goat day today working on Overhead Squats and Squat Snatch.

EMOM for 5 minutes

  • 1 x Overhead Squat @ 45lbs (empty bar)

Take 15 minutes and work to a heavy complex of

  • 1 x Hang Power Snatch
  • 1 x Overhead Squat
  • 1 x Hang Squat Snatch

Then 3 rounds of

Then take 15 minutes to work up to a heavy

  • 1 x Overhead Squat

Results: Complex got up to 80lbs. Squat Snatch and Snatch Balance went surprisingly well. Snatch Balance 45-65-65lbs. Overhead Squat got up to 100lbs.
