Pistol Squats and Power Cleans then Row, Squat Cleans and HSPU

EMOM for 10 minutes

  • 4 x Alternating Pistol Squats (R+L=2 reps)

Take 20 minutes and work up to a heavy

  • 1.1.1 x Power Clean

Then AMRAM in 12 minutes

  • 10 Cal Row
  • 10 x Squat Cleans @ 95lbs
  • 10 x Handstand Pushups

Results: Power Clean got to 155lbs (tried 165lbs but failed in the second rep).  Metcon 2 rounds plus 18 reps.

Deadlifts, Bench Press and Squat Cleans

Inspired by Regionals Event 2 (Linda), but since I only have one bar modified it to be more of a strength workout.

For time do the following (time cap 10 minutes)

  • 10-8-6-4-2 x Deadlifts @ 185lbs
  • 20-16-12-8-4 x Dynamic Plate Pushups

Take 2 minutes to move weights, then for time do (time cap 10 minutes)

  • 10-8-6-4-2 x Bench Press @ 155lbs
  • 14-10-8-4-2 x  Dumbbell Squat Cleans @ 10kg per hand

Take 2 minutes to move weights, then for time do (time cap 10 minutes)

  • 10-8-6-4-2 x Squat Cleans @ 125lbs
  • 20-16-12-8-4 x Kettlebell Swings @ 24kg (total)

Results:  Had a lot of issues with the original version of the WOD so adapted it to work better.  Above is the modified version, below is the original.  With the original, the first part worked well, the second and third parts were too hard and I couldn’t finish even the first round in the 2 minutes, so switching to a time cap made it better.  For the last round finished in 9:19.

E2MOM for 10 minutes

  • 10-8-6-4-2 x Deadlifts @ 185lbs
  • 20-16-12-8-4 x Dynamic Plate Pushups

Take 2 minutes to move weights, then E2MOM for 10 minutes

  • 10-8-6-4-2 x Bench Press @ 155lbs
  • 20-16-12-8-4 x  Dumbbell Squat Cleans @ 14kg per hand

Take 2 minutes to move weights, then E2MOM for 10 minutes

  • 10-8-6-4-2 x Squat Cleans @ 125lbs
  • 20-16-12-8-4 x Kettlebell Swings @ 24kg (total)

Squat Cleans and Toes to Bar

CF New England WOD from 25 April

EMOM for 20 minutes

  • 1 x Hang Squat Clean

Then AMRAP in 8 minutes

  • 3 x Squat Clean @ 95lbs
  • 3 x Toes to Bar
  • 6 x Squat Clean @ 95lbs
  • 6 x Toes to Bar
  • etc. adding 3 reps per round

Results:  For the Squat Cleans, started with 65lbs and worked up to 145lbs, increasing weight slowly, keeping form.  For the metcon 66 reps (round of 12 plus 6 reps).

Crossfit Open WOD 18.2

In 12 minutes complete the following

Part A: For time do an ascending ladder 1-2-3-4…8-9-10 of

  • Dumbbell Squats @ 20kg (Rx is 22.5kg)
  • Bar Facing Burpees

Then in the remaining time

  • 1 RM Cleans

Results:  Part A completed in 9:30.  Part B 155lbs.  Here it is in 5x speed… turns out I still can’t count so I ended up doing 7 squats for round 6 and 6 for round 7 and some other mistakes.  I think it came to a total of 112 reps :-P.

Squat Cleans then Row, T2B, Wall Balls, Power Cleans and Pullups

Five sets of

  • 1.1.1 x Squat Cleans (rest 10 seconds between reps)
  • Rest 2 – 3 minutes

AMRAP in 14 minutes

  • 15 Calorie Row
  • 50 x Toes to Bar
  • 40 x Sandbag Thrusters @ 30lbs or Wallballs
  • 30 x Power Cleans
  • 20 x Pullups

Results:  Squat Cleans 95-115-135-140-145.  AMRAP – Exactly one round… had to push hard to get that last pullup finished before the time ran out!
