Maine, USA (Part 2)

We left Rockport the day after our clinic and drove up to Bar Harbor. When we got there we drove around the island in the fog stopping at the Sand Beach and Thunder Hole. We also took a short hike around the Lower Hadlock Pond. On the second day it was sunny and we went on another hike up Gorham Mountain and then took a family kayak tour with Coastal Kayak Tours up by Hadley Point. On our last day, we took a spontaneous second kayak tour with Aquaterra Adventures which went out of the harbor to the Porcupine Islands. This turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. You can see the route we took and the islands in the picture of Sam sitting on top of Mount Cadillac. After lunch we went whale watching and got to see 3 humpback whales which made for a great end to the trip. The final picture is of a the Egg Rock Lighthouse which I took on the ride back from seeing the whales.
